Courses or materials to develop:
• professional development - high quality course for the transition from classroom to online
• bilingual education
• teaching core curriculum through a vocational lens: "Spanish for Healthcare Workers", "Algebra for Construction Workers", "Physics for auto mechanics"
• high schools with vocational pathways - preparing students for careers right out of high school
Other things to consider:
• second language learners - helping both the students and the teachers
• state living costs create teacher shortage, esp. specialties like mathematics; comparable to Hawaii
⁃ may have to move to an online setting so that somebody from a distance can do it; another benefit of online learning: teachers on maternity leave can instruct from afar
⁃ may be left with just Americorps teachers
• issue with career tech courses: demanded professions represented and finding a teacher
