The possibility of creating an online social networking learning environment.
This group discussed creating a context for learning in an interactive environment geared towards drawing students in on basis of interest.
Some of the broad questions the group addressed:
What are the challenges to creating this type of environment versus a social environment like Facebook?
How does the environment attract a student, keep them interested and learning as well as measure their progress?
How can interest driven learning environmentsbe implemented into school systems and how effective wouldthey be in different demographics? (South LA vs. Bay Area Suburbs, etc)

Group: Interest-driven Learning Environments
Characteristics that make a learning environment work. What attributes should be built into the design? Content is only one element. The peer-to-peer relationship is another. The context of the learning can be global or local. Different modalities have different benefits. Print v computer. If you design it right the community will contribute other media to the mix. It's not about the content. It's about the context.
