Integrating F2F and online activities
For courses which include both face-to-face (F2F) and online activities, how to decide what’s best to do where? and how to integrate the two sets of activities?
A two-page briefing paper by Sonia Bartoluzzi and Peter Goodyear discusses the strengths of F2F activities (synchronous communication, possibility for interruption, possibility of sharing physical resources) and online activities (if asynchronous, allowing time for reflection, overcoming participants’ inhibitions) and how to use them in a complementary way.
