Robin Wilson from The Open University using an overhead projector! To explore the way in which the spoken word and the written word can be used to communicate with the world. He presented a wide range of examples from the obscure specialised inaugural lecture, to the popular TV programmes and books. Now his Gresham lectures are available on youtube and his OU content presented to students on line.

His final comments were on the way that obscure research writing remains valued more than writing for the public.
