bCisive Online is a web-based decision-making and collaboration tool from Austhink Software.   It  follows on from our previous commercial forays into desk-top-based visual mapping software: the business-oriented bCisive desktop, and before that the argument-mapping-based Rationale.

In developing bCisive Online we aimed to make visual thinking and deliberation both simpler and more team-oriented.  Probably the most striking innovation is a form of real-time collaboration.  Multiple participants can collaboratively edit a map: remotely manipulated boxes fly around in near real-time, echoing multiplayer online games, while "control" (the ability to edit) is passed around in a disciplined fashion.

In this talk I would like to explain the motivation for introducing real-time collaboration, and its design and realisation in bCisive Online.
