Research Method - Practical Application skills required of excellent PhD or doctoral students
An excellent researcher at doctoral or PhD level:
- Skilfully uses a range of research methods linked to study area; documents own activity.
- Shows growing competence in own subject area and is developing awareness of alternative methods/techniques.
Looking ahead, a doctoral student can aim to become an excellent early-career researcher who:
- Demonstrates further development of methods/techniques; confidently applies these in research.
- Designs and implements research using methods and tools appropriate to the task. Documents research processes.
