An excellent researcher at doctoral or PhD level:

• Creates ideas and spots opportunities internally and externally.
• Develops ideas in an innovative manner within own institution or externally.
• Understands the process of commercial exploitation of research results.
• Learns of the value to academia of establishing relationships in business/commercial context.
