OER use: who, what, where, how and most of all WHY?

Chris Pegler, IET and ORIOLE (Open Resources: Impact on Learners and Educators)
The Open University

Chris Pegler, has been involved in research around reuse of digital resources online for the past decade, in projects ranging from departmental to national repositories and informal sharing online. Here she offers her take on how OER use is developing as part of a continuum of activity around sharing resources online. She will present a framework for examining use of open content with emphasis on motivations to share and reuse resources. Chris will also introduce the work of ORIOLE, a new project which is looking widely at open resource use by learners and educators.

Chris's presentation will be linked with a groupwork session in the afternoon in which she will lead activity exploring motivation and benefits in sharing and using open educational resources.
