Really nice presentation.

Is the cloudworks software available? Is it also used in other places?

I'm thinking about to use this as platform for my school staff to have a place to collect new ideas

and suggestions.

I'm thinking about a way to visualize the clouds and their relations to people and ideas.

Willi Bernhard had a presentation at MoodleMoot2008 in Heidelberg to show how he

visualizes projects, people and ideas in bubbles.

Here is a picture

Hi yes visualising the connectivism in the system in different ways is going to be really important. Thanks for the link, has a quick look but not sure I totally get it yet! ;-)

but will follow up!

I agree that visualisation is crucially important.  When you being to assess the strength of arguments when the disccussion really gets going it is fascinating/useful/imnportant to SEE what the argunentation network looks like.

Hiya Eckart

i really like this and it reminds me a bit of what i like about the promise of pedagogical

patterns - the notion of a ped. pattern language - showing what things are closest

to other things - I had envisaged that it would look something like this - and the nice thing

about cloudworks is that it could then grow organically as the system develops.

Dunno how difficult this might be technically but will get Juliette to look into it!

Just to let you know that I'm taking all this in and thanks for the image! Hopefully when Grainne is back in the UK, wecan do some proper thinking about the best way to introduce some visualisation into Cloudworks. There's a question of what's feasible from a technical perspective, but I agree on it's importance.

That's great.

Maybe I can add another suggestion. It may be positive to find people with a similar

profile than a oneself. A person who uses a similar combination of tags, to

view persons with similar profiles. People that you follow should be excluded, because you

know them already.

Maybe it's also possible to make that with objects too. Here should those be excluded

which are in the same cloudscape.

The idea is to make automated connections between people and objects in addition to the

connections users make.

The results could be shown in a small box 'You may be interested in this persons ideas'.

I attended Grainne's presentation and read the paper.  I think this service has great potential.

For those who are interested, I have written a blog post on Cloudworks.  Included are

some ideas for improvements.

Regards,

Damien.
