Top issues cited with developing foundation degrees

What are the key issues cited as most problematic in developing foundation degrees. In a consultation exercise with staff across the faculty the following were cited:

 

  1. Sharing resources
  2. Study support for students
  3. Flexibility in the curriculum
  4. Accommodating different feeder studies
  5. Incorporating the workplace
  6. Addressing student overload issues
  7. Accommodating different nations in the curriculum
  8. Allocating resources

Support the principle of offering courses across the nation states, but this brings issues regarding the difference in qualification specifications e.g. in Scotland the FD equivalent requires 300 credit points.
