I've recently taken on the role of coordinating and leading learning and teaching support teams that are focused on enhancing faculty colleagues' capacity to adopt a more genuinely online model of teaching and learning, where students are engaged in meaningful activities online as well as the usual downloading, reading and forum contributions.
That the majority of my faculty colleagues feel comfortable and capable to design meaningful student experiences online.
Bringing about that change
I think our support model is a step in the right the direction. Our support teams include learning designers, and digital media and technical support staff, which brings the power of the team to bear. Our challenge is to quickly find and generate good practice models so our faculty colleagues can see what good practice looks like.
