The Scholarship of and for teaching is part of the developments following the Senate paper S/10/4/6 which was approved by Senate in 2010. Senate approved the emphasis on different kinds of scholarship, each of which meets high standards and is valued. Two of the scholarship categories - the scholarship of and the scholarship for teaching - were the focus of an initiative by the Pro Vice Chancellor (Learning, Teaching & Quality) in 2011, inviting each CAU and the nation regions to propose projects that meet the requirements of scholarship.


A total of ten projects were accepted and will be progressed during 2011/12, with support and collaboration from IET. This site is set up to provide a place for information about events supporting the development of scholarship at the OU, notably the current projects underway, and for discussion. There is a companion site on the Knowledge Network where a range of papers and information is being provided for the support of the Scholarship of and for teaching generally.
