IET Technology Coffee Morning: 'ICT', schools and professional development the Vital story
5 December 2012
Location: Jennie Lee Building Meeting Room 1 Ground Floor
Abstract: Vital is a £9.4million DfE funded programme to enhance 'ICT teaching' (which includes IT, Computer Science and ICT as well as cross curricula use of new technologies) in state funded 5-19 education in England.
We will provide an overview of the programme, outlining how it changed over its three phases of funding.
In the process we will explore what effective CPD looks like in the changing landscape of English compulsory education.
There will be opportunities to explore our current activities, which are focussed around the Education Futures Evidence Hub, Vital Guides to various aspects of strategic management of ICT in schools, the 'ICT' curriculum debate and the emerging evidence about Vital's impact.
