I am still very interested in international comparisons of and critical success factors for large-scale e-learning, following on from the Re.ViCa project and more recent work (as yet unpublished) for Becta. Some work continues on the Re.ViCa wiki and there is a bi-monthly Newsletter. The final report on the UKeU archives will draw on much of this to set the archive material in the current context of OLTF and other activities.

For the last two years I have been Critical Friend to two Welsh HEIs (Aberystwyth and Glamorgan) under the HEFCW/HE Academy "Gwella" Programme and recently become a consultant to both under the JISC "Building Capacity" project for Wales.

I have recently completed a report for  OU  Higher Education Shared Solutions on cost-benefits of a sector-wide retention strategy including a comparative analysis of funding models across four countries. Even more recently I have completed with a team of three helpers a four-VLE comparison study for the OU VLE team.

Benchmarking continues at several institutions in and beyond the UK. In the public part of this work we are in the final months of the Distance Learning Benchmarking Club, part-funded by JISC via the "Duckling" project at the University of Leicester.

Work on quality in e-learning also continues with an ICDE meeting of specialists shortly in Canada, following on from last year's ENQA workshop in Sweden.
