Exploring the use of technologies in educational assessment in Primary Schools

The research focuses on the perceptions and experiences of teachers and students regarding the use of technologies in assessment in Primary Schools. The design includes semi-structured interviews with 14 participants from 2 Primary Schools. The findings suggest that there is not much use of technologies in summative assessment, but there are a variety of ways that different technologies are used in formative assessment. Teachers and students agree on the main advantages and challenges that technologies could have on assessment. The implications of these findings are discussed in terms of differential access to technologies and their previous digital experiences.
