The fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) project is the Australian government's response to the national broadband network (NBN) tender. The tender ended with no winner as prime minister Kevin Rudd announced the FTTH project, which will be run by a company made up of a partnership between the government and the private sector. It is of interest to the education sector since many education tools are reliant on web 2.0 technology and broadband accessibility.
