Helping students choose resources

We tend to give students too much to read. This need not be a bad thing; it may be good for students to have choice about what they read. But they probably want guidance about what is essential and what optional, how difficult the reading is, and how long it will take. After all, they have other legitimate calls on their time. Follow the link for a discussion of student resource selection by Sonia Bartoluzzi and Peter Goodyear in the TELL Pattern Book, pp. 32-33.
