I am working on several mobile learning projects. For example, on the MATURE IP (http://mature-ip.eu/) I am providing a lead for a Womble! Just call me Great Uncle Bulgaria :-) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Wombles

Womble (Work Oriented MoBile Learning Environment)  will enable workers to appropriate the mobile phone as a Personal Learning Maturing Environment (PLME) for knowledge maturing. The Womble USP is that it provides contextualising of WBL problem-solving, interaction and knowledge maturing via a user-owned mobile PLE.

If anyone is working on a similar area let me know. Below is a potted description of Womble. There are several partners involved in  this demonstrator from around Europe. We have only just got started on this.

Cheers John

The demonstrator aims to develop a prototype Womble. Specifically, the project will extend the current implementation of mPLE (Mark van Harmelen) and structured learning dialogue frameworks, such as Dialogue Games and InterLoc (Andrew Ravenscroft), providing worker with a joined-up mobile PLME services. A social software ‘substrate’ and multi-user / multi-media spaces allows workers to meet co-workers. Womble services will, for example, allow workers to tag fellow work colleagues (contacts); when a problem arises this service will enable collaborative problem solving. In the longer term a ‘lite’ dialogue game service, that can be linked to the tagging of personal competencies, will be available to scaffold workers in their active collaboration and ‘on the spot’ problem solving. Graham Attwell provides WBL & PLE expertise.
