Jannie Nielsen

Two dominant types of learners (Castells): Generic labour (dependent of intervention, interchangeable and disposable), self programmable labour (competences for self initiated lifelong learning, expansive learning)

Tensions: current poltical-ethitical discourse vs. current economic pramatic discourse

Students expect from teachers

Studens personal cost benefit analysis

Our challenge - how do we maintain educational quality and suport for future competencess and maintain core principels for experiental education

Design for learning model - to use as analytic and design tool

  • Conceptual modelling
  • Orchestration
  • Operationalisation

Students dont read what they should, how do we bridge the gap? How do we create productive frustration, kick start reflection, consolidate theory and provide a scaffold?

How do we regain lost time?

Conceptual model is based on Darso, three parts

  • Project - innovation (explore, divergent, non-linear, time frame, process driven, no decisions)
  • Pre-project specification (identify goal, deadline, etc)
  • Project - final product

Relational axis - scenario (frame group work, push negotiation of common grounds)

Complexity axis - challenge (confrotn genuine dilemmas and problems)

The edge of chaos - the roles scope the actions

Orchestrate - Bohrean complemetrarity

  • Shared reality
