Shared Thinking provides a new approach and practice for reflection. The process facilitates cognitive and situative development through a process of collaborative reflection up to a whole-group level. 

Through implementation that gave rise to empirical data we are able to show that Shared Thinking does provide an effective means of reflection upon student work placements and for induction and transition.
