Martyn, your examples of how accessibility and usability has or hasn't been adequately adopted early in OU projects and courses in recent years (and the resulting impact on what was produced) show that we've still got to get the message around the OU about how important this is for our students. 

We are very fortunate at the OU that we have the new fantastic facilities of the Jennie Lee Research Labs at the heart of the campus, where expert usability and accessibility testing of course materials and websites in the development stages can take place.  See for further details about the labs and the service we offer.
