Moodle is a course management system (CMS) - a free, Open Source software package designed using sound pedagogical principles, to help educators create effective online learning communities. You can download and use it on any computer you have handy (including webhosts), yet it can scale from a single-teacher site to a University with 200,000 students.

Don't worry.

You can decide how the copyright policy of your material is.

The GPL under which moodle is published refers only to the programm code and

code which is build on this code. When you use moodle you do not build on the code

you only use the programm.

The idea of GPL is to provide people with good software which they can use and distribute

and not to impose stupid restriktions on them. They are only not allowed to declare the

code as their own by adding some lines.

A lot of people use Creative Commons to share their materials with others. That's great but

you are not pressed to do it.
