An excellent researcher at doctoral or PhD level:

  • Demonstrates a willingness and ability to learn and acquire knowledge.
  • Develops a style of questioning and questioning technique.

Looking ahead, a doctoral student can aim to become an excellent early-career researcher who:

  • Demonstrates flexibility and open-mindedness. 
  • Identifies useful questions, asks challenging questions; always curious.
