An excellent researcher at doctoral or PhD level:
- Determines to complete first project.
- Commits to own project and establishes research credentials.
Looking ahead, a doctoral student can aim to become an excellent early-career researcher who:
- Demonstrates a drive to engage further in research; has a sense of purpose and is dedicated.
- Focuses on own research area; evaluates and manages potential distractions.
