At BETT there was an announcement about the end of a national curriculum in ICT, also changes in computer science, and discussion about digital literacy in schoolsw and society. Changes are intended for September this year but it is still unclear what will happen. There was mention of open source and wikis so there may be something worth exploring.

Stephen Heppell claimed that students in schools now expect learning situations supported by technology and that this will influence universities.

I have done a blog looking at a couple of blogs written over the weekend.

I find the critique of neo-liberal policy convincing but I also think academics could engage in practice more often. There is not much chance of open source getting a big stand at Olympia but there could be a lot of discussion through social media.
