Matt suggested we try

We need to not make apologies and look at how our projects can link to practice. We have an allocation for scholary activity! Argument that collegues are doing this anyway, need to addjust a few things to make it research.

Gives value to our partners if say 'we do research'

We decided to have one SIG a month, Wed at 2pm seems best time,

We want an away day in December where we will discuss 'Research interests and metodology' (John ask Gay for QR funds tea&coffe, venue if poss).

We agreed that at next SIG (November) we would plan the December away day and each do a short (5-10 minute) presentation of our research interests. There will be time after each presentation for a discussion.

To prepare for Away Day in December, the November SIG will give us a chance to present 10 miutes on Research interests, John set up and emailed about Doodle poll to choose best day in November:

Feel free to pass on the link to any colleagues you think may be interested.

Regards John
