This is my learning journal

Starting for me:

The starting process was struggleling and confusing. I felt overwhelmed!! To many people participating very fast and so I felt very slow, struggling with my own course idea, feeling stucked, etc. Although I did my homewok: watched the video, introduce my self and, created my cloud with my dream [introduce your self + write your dream project]

So I took the weekend to read and take a look as if I was a tourist in the Grand Bazaar at Istambul (a real dream I have)... In my journey I read many of the projects and always thought how clear they can express their ideas. I wish I could. Well, in this 2 days journey I realized that I want to have or better said share a little kiosk in the Dream Bazaar and I decided to join a fantastik group of dreamers. They are looking for digital literacy and so do I. I wrote my comments to see if I could join the group this morning. I am waiting for the answer. [Team up activity]

Things to accomplish on week 2

Design outcomes

  • Explore and represent context in relation to your design challenge.
  • Communicate and receive feedback on your analysis of context for your design challenge.
  • Gain insights into your design challenge by applying one or more contextual learning design approaches.

Learning outcomes

  • Review & revise your understanding of learner context and it's relevance to learning design.
  • Increase your awareness of approaches to context for learning design.
  • Evaluate the relevance of contextual approaches to your own learning design practice.
  • Plan further learning about contextual approaches.
That is the plan for this week.
More to come!

Task: Set personal activities for the week

  1. Acomplish week 1 on time
  2. Cope with my anxieties with new and unknown things and get things done!
  3. Learn to manage the skills for cloud and create my cloudscape with respective clouds ( Evidence: Creating my cloudscape, my learning journal)
  4. Have a more solid and structured idea about learning design (writing a paragraph with my own idea)
  5. Adding at least one node or item to the mindmap of LD

Caroline,

I had the same problem with the link tool.

It pops up too small and seems not to do anything.

Make it fullscreen by clicking the square icon and you will see where to enter the URL

Reflections on week 1:

  1. Acomplish week 1 on time: I did it
  2. Cope with my anxieties with new and unknown things and get things done!
Stil on it, but feeling a bit better and trying to engage in the crowd
  3. Learn to manage the skills for cloud and create my cloudscape with respective clouds ( Evidence: Creating my cloudscape, my learning journal)
    I did it:
    My cloudscape: http://cloudworks.ac.uk/cloudscape/view/2748
    My cloud journal:  http://cloudworks.ac.uk/cloud/view/6736
    Digital Literacy cloudscape: http://cloudworks.ac.uk/cloudscape/view/2688
  4. Have a more solid and structured idea about learning design (writing a paragraph with my own idea)
I did it in the open google discussion What does learning design mean for you? Pufffff!!! A lot of information, lots of views, lots of theory.

I have been thinking on how to define Learning Design? It is indeed about designing something. And designing is creating something particular for a particular use or purpose. It is an object to be created (A learning episode) intended to accomplish certain goals (Learning as it best) to be used in a particular context or environment (virtual, face2face, etc) and it has to satisfy some standards or specifications (the one of the government  the institution, the boss, etc).
So designing is investing time and creative thinking to create a learning sequence for a particular public in a particular context. There are important things to take into account. As if I am designing a table I need to think of what would be the function of this table and following this I will conceive the best form or shape to accomplish the function. The idea of a good design is to help the users to perform the intended task, to be a tool for the user to perform the task as best as possible and with the best outcomes as possible. There is much more to say, but there is so much said that keeping interventions short is best for me
