Learning Design and Design Thinking in general

What got me interested in this course is the challenge to use Design Thinking methodology to create something (i.e. a curriculum) that is innovative yet purposeful / explicitly useful and BETTER. Really curious what the outcome will be. Especially looking forward to evaluation week.

I really like this quote from Yishay's newsletter:

"First, I do not sit down at my desk to put into verse something that is already clear in my mind. If it were clear in my mind, I should have no incentive or need to write about it." ~ C. Day Lewis

My initial idea for this course had been:
>>Design a model for transferring the "booksprint" method of collaborative ebook writing from the area of technical documentation to the area of education. <<
This was more than half a year ago, when I answered the first OLDS-MOOC questionnaire.

I have not posted to the dream bazaar cloud because I felt one thing was missing from that design idea: A TOPIC. What should this collaboratively produced MANUAL be ABOUT? So when I read Sue's posting about designing resources for DIY video production, I had the feeling, Yep this might be it! NB: The outcome may or may be not in the form of a (multimedia-rich) ebook. For me, It's about the process of collaboratively creating manual-like resources within a very short time frame.

Can anyone tell me how to add line breaks paragraphs to a post?
They "disappear" when submitting ... ((edit)) Got it. You have to add the < br/ > tag.

Hello Esther

I’ve set up a DIY Multimedia for Teaching and Learning Google Group at!forum/olds-mooc-diy-multimedia

And posted on Monday’s task Learning design brainstorm inviting DIY Multimedia members to describe their own thoughts on learning design.

Please feel free to add a few thoughts on how you all approach learning design.

Also how are you all finding the MOOC? So far for me the Massiveness has been a bit overwhelming. I’m hoping once we are all in the same place then collaboration and communication may get a little easier!

Hello Sue,

Thanks. Just requested being added to the group. About to come to terms with the different platforms...
