Yes, Jane (and Catherine too) our projects are very similar and I'm happy to collaborate. I'm off to find the other cloud that you mentioned Jane to see if we all meet up there. Thanks.

Hello all,

One of the things I'm interested in is bringing 'research skills' out of the doldrums (perhaps calling it/them something else!). What we are moving towards at UCL BASc is instilling a culture of research in our year 1 undergraduates. This seems to me the way to go with the students who are ready for this and interested enough. And, so far, so good at UCL.

I am not a techy person, but I'd be interested to collaborate and learn/share thoughts around these ideas (and wider ideas of the contemporary 'knowledgecsape') on this MOOC if you are interested.

All best,

Hi Carl - that seems to be very close to my dream. Quite happy to collaborate with someone who is not a tetchy person. I'm not usually!

Hi Jane, Carl, Helen and Catherine!

I am a bit lost with the clouds, never walked through clouds, so the learning curve is slow. I do not know if finally I am in this group or not? As no comon place for discussion has taken place. But maybe just talking within our clouds will substitute it?

I am interested in the idea of digital literacy as I wrote to Jane yesterday. I am a math teacher and I would like to find a means (I think it could be a Personal Learning Environmetn) to develop digital literacy in inservice teachers. I believe that for technology to become invisible, teachers and also we all have to master it very good so that it becomes natural as when we drive or cook or walk and text and maybe eat a donuts ;) at the same time without thinking. There is literature that shows that building your own learning environment can effectively support the development of higher level (strategic) digital and media literacy skills.

So I hope I can join the team!!

May be find a comon place (google hangout, google discussion group, cloud group) to chat and bring together initial common thoughts and ideas

build a personal learning environment, MUPPLEs can effectively support the development of higher level (strategic) digital and
media literacy skills.
