“A WebQuest is an inquiry-oriented lesson format in which most or all the information that learners work with comes from the web.”
The basic format consists of a TASK (eg nominate a learning theorist for a Who’s Who in Human Learning and argue for their inclusion; design a themed restaurant for a specific location; produce a briefing paper on health and safety issues for a government minister), followed by PROCESS GUIDANCE, including suggested weblinks. The EVALUATION criteria are also made clear to the students.
The site contains examples (find them using free-text search or by selecting subject and grade – which includes “adult” as well as school levels) and guidance on creating WebQuests (http://webquest.org/index-create.php)
