My Name is Keith Falconer

I work full time as a Secondary School Teacher. I teach Computing and CDT

I work part time as an Associate Lecturer with the Open University.

I worked at Strathclyde University as a Teaching Fellow.

I am very interested in E-Learning, Mind-Maps and supporting students using On-Line support tools.

I am particularly interested in the use of Mind-Maps to help pupils with additional learning support needs access the curriculum.

My MEd project was an in depth study on the use of Mind-Maps to help pupils with additional learning support needs access the curriculum. The project lasted 4 months and was very successful. The project involved working with a small group of pupils and ASN teachers. The teachers and the pupils were taught how to use mind-maps as a revision tool and tools to break down complex areas of the curriculum pupils were experiencing difficulty with.

The project was deemed to be a success by both the pupils and the staff who worked supported me during the project.

I use mind-maps to support my OU students, some students find mind-maps useful others prefer different revision tools and strategies,
