The ups and downs of PhD Research The workshop will offer some tips on how to cope with the emotional rollercoaster of doing a PhD, and will develop ideas and strategies on reading, writing and presenting your research, how to talk about your research like a human being, and designing a communication strategy to share your research with a wider audience.

 Dr Nilam Ashra-McGrath is a communications specialist with 19 years experience of writing, editing, research and training for the non-profit sector. She completed her PhD in Corporate Communications at Leeds University Business School in 2008, and is currently working as Research Uptake Manager for the COMDIS Health Service Delivery Research Programme, (Institute of Health Sciences, Leeds University School of Medicine). She offers workshops for PhD students on writing and communication, Analysing Qualitative Data and Using Diaries for Research.
