The Fair took place on 17th January 2008 in The Old Lecture Theatre from 12-2pm where a number of stalls hosted by various 'experts' in some of the most popular published 'Learn about' subjects were available to talk on their subject. Visitors were able to informally approach them, gain some practical experience of the subjects and walk away with a printed copy of the guide etc.

In addition, there was a 'Digilab corner' and a 'Gaming corner' where visitors had a hands-on 'play' with various technologies. We also ran a quiz for participants on the various technologies on show, with an MP3 player for a prize. Lunch and refreshments were provided.

The activity:

  • served to promote the Learn About guides further,
  • refreshed in people’s minds their existence and usefulness, and
  • was a reminder that guides are regularly being created and updated as part of the EPD offering.

Participants did not need to register to attend; colleagues were free to turn up on the day any time between 12 and 2pm.
