The e-Design template seems to me a good way of analysing several aspects of activities. It is based on a constructivist didactic view. A designer can use the template to map out the way the activities support development of learner towards becoming self-organised learners. It is also makes the designer aware of the kinds of assessment that go with this development.
This template is made for teachers more than technicians for example. I don't think it looks at activity design from the perspective of the technician because it does not mention the technological setting as for example the 4SPPIces or ISiS models do.
This makes it easier to read, understand and use for a teacher designing lessons, though it is less comprehensive and it will not support collaboration between teacher and technicians.
