There is a very clear demarcation of each type of resource and activity, and the tool enables the designer to monitor the activity types through the Statistics function. The writer notes, however, that it is not possible to assign more than one learning activity to an activity, which is quite a significant weakness. The swim lane style chart makes the chronological order of the lesson clear, but it does not allow for much distinction between face-to-face interactions.
I think this would work quite well for tutor-centric learning in a classroom. When the focus was more online, however, and the focus was more on collaborative learning, I fear this model would be insufficiently expressive .
