Multimedia production in teaching and learning: opportunities and challenges
Soraya Kouadri Mostefaoui and Giselle Ferreira
The last decade has witnessed an unprecedented growth and dissemination of digital applications that support creative experimentation with multimedia. Web 2.0 tools, in particular, have provided ample opportunities for sharing, opening up new possibilities for non-professionals to engage in this experimentation. However, the integration into educational contexts of such activities has been limited. This poster examines issues related to using multimedia in teaching and learning, drawing upon a literature review that has sought to map the uses of video in educational contexts. Focusing on issues pertaining to production and, in particular, assessment, the poster outlines possibilities and challenges for practitioners and learners alike.
