Learning Analytics of Emotion for self-regulated learning

Abstract:In online learning we are developing a means to provide learning at a new scale requiring new methods to support learners. This proposed research aims to support learners using a trace of student emotions for self-regulated learning. Which raises the following three research questions. How can we measure students’ emotions? How can we display emotional data directly to students? What support will students need to use emotional data to improve their learning? An initial scoping study and meta analysis are outlined in a research agenda designed to scale up and validate an emotional measurement for online learner.
